SOUTH BEND, IN – Some things don’t go together, like bathtubs and toasters. Or planes and houses.
A small corporate jet out of Tulsa, Oklahoma slammed into a row of homes in South Bend, Indiana over the weekend. It left three houses damaged, just eight miles from the airport.
“There were four occupants in the plane. Two fatalities. On the ground there was one injury,” said John Corthier with the South Bend Fire Department.
Former Oklahoma University quarterback Steve Davis was one of the two people killed. He played for the Sooners in the seventies when they won two national titles.
For now, the FAA is trying to figure out just what happened. They say the pilot had reported an electrical problem while trying to land. The official cause is under investigation.
