Dirt poor? You’ve still got a place 6-feet under

HOUSTON, TX – It’s the question that’s plagued mankind for centuries. Where do we go when we die ?

Some say Heaven, others believe in reincarnation; but before any after-life business, we all have to go somewhere. If you’ve ever had to make funeral arrangement, you know laying someone to rest can be very expensive.

The Historic Harris County Cemetery, in northeast Houston, is where the city lays its poor to rest, but there’s only so much resting-room in any one cemetery.

Which is why the Harris County Community Services Department’s opening a new 92-acre indigent cemetery, in Crosby.

We all know the less fortunate often live a hard life on the streets, so the very least we can do is make sure they’ve got a place to rest in peace.
