LA PORTE, TX – The weather wasn’t too friendly, but that didn’t keep the spirit down, here at the Battleship Texas Centennial Festival. In the shadow of a barely visible San Jacinto Monument, thousands of visitors came out to celebrate the 100th birthday of this Texas landmark.
Even some of the crew that served on board were honored in a special ceremony.
Young and old came aboard to tour the vessel and gain a new respect for those that served our nation during World Wars I and II.
A great state, with a great boat. Here’s to preserving Battleship Texas and it’s heritage for another 100 years.
