These days, it seems like cruise ships can barely make it out of port before something goes wrong. Do you remember when the Costa Concordia wrecked off the coast of Italy killing 32 people and hurting 150 others? Well, now the crew members responsible are answering for it.
Five people were convicted of multiple manslaughter and causing personal injury. The plea deal they agreed upon means only two may serve any prison time, but this case does not include the ship’s captain, Francesco Schettino, whose trial began this past week. So we’ll have to wait and see if this captain really will go down with his ship, after all.
