This is one cake that’s fit for royalty.
Houston cake sculptor, Nadine Moon is putting her cake baking skills to the test.
“Here at who made the cake we are known for making unique cakes. We thought it’d be a great way to honor princess Katherine she is having a baby, her wedding was such an inspiration to so many, so we are creating a 3D sculpture to honor her and it’s going to be displayed at the Bridal Extravaganza this weekend. All week we’ve been creating the structure and then filling it in with dense layers of butter pound cake.
Looks great, but how is this thing going to hold up in the heat?
“There are foam supports inside, we’re dealing with Houston humidity here and we do not want a royal mess, so the top has a little more foam support in it, and the rice crispies the bottom part is all cake.”
Creating something like this from scratch can’t be easy, so how does one go about deciding on the look?
“I used her wedding cake as the inspiration for the dress, but turned it more into a little bit of an evening gown with the silver touch. so we’re hand painting in the lace detail and edible sparkle so it will really catch the light beautifully.
It was a great French princess who once muttered the phrase “let them eat cake”. If only she had a life size cake of herself, like this for them to feed upon
