AUSTIN, TX – The Texas Lt. Governor race is panning out to be an exciting one.
Another Houstonian has joined the mix. State Senator Dan Patrick announced he’s in it to win it, touting his “authentic conservatism.” To him, that means he’s someone who “doesn’t wake up in the morning wondering what they stand for.”
Well, we know he stands for the ever so popular Tea Party.
He’s already tossing jabs at incumbent and native Houston David Dewhurst. Patrick is being vocal about his displeasure with Tuesday’s abortion bill filibuster, pointing the blame for the Democratic victory at Republican Dewhurst.
There are two other guys in the race: Land Commissioner Jerry Patterson and Agriculture Commissioner Todd Staples.
This battle of the Republicans goes down in May 2014.
