HOUSTON, TX – A couple of weeks ago, the Houston fire hockey teams, along with Local 341 and Houston Enforcers, held “Guns & Hoses,” a fundraiser for the families of the fire fighters killed and hurt in the motel fire.
They raised some big bucks.
It was up to more than $45,000 Thursday, and the big check was presented to the families.
“We still have four firefighters that are hospitalized, still having problems and as you know, everyday bills are still coming in. So this will be something to help them out right now until everything else kicks in for all the benefits and everything else,” said Richard Gomez, Director of Local 341.
It’s amazing what people can accomplish out of the goodness of their hearts.
