Nebraska man accidentally eats brownies laced with marijuana, wife calls 911 for help

OMAHA, Neb. - Who ya gonna call when there's a dope emergency?

Nope, NOT Cheech and Chong. A wife in Omaha dialed 911.

"Fire and rescue?" a dispatcher answers.

"I need an ambulance.  My husband -- I think he's overdosed.  He accidentally ate some pot brownies."

Yeah, a guy in Nebraska-- who wants to remain anonymous-- accidentally downed a couple of pot brownies his kids left behind.

"And I thought... oh, cool, I've got some brownies to go with my pizza, for dessert," the man remarked.

Boy, was he in for a surprise!

"Wow, I am really high!" he said.

Yeah, the man told his wife to call the kids, but there was no answer.

And then things went south in a hurry...so that's when she called 911.

"He's starting to panic," the wife tells the dispatcher.

"Is he breathing okay?" the operator asks.

"Yeah.  You're breathing okay?" she asks her husband.

"No," he replies.

"No?" she says in shock.

That's when the dispatcher even became concerned.

"I-I couldn't stop fidgeting," the man recalled.

The dad was so high, he started calling "Kipper" the family cat some mean names!

"I said, 'Watch out, she can be a -bleep-, so I crawled around the cat," he laughed.

His kids have some serious explaining to do.

But luckily, dear ole dad just went upstairs and slept it off!

HOUSTON - For Houston music lovers there's a new hotspot -- the White Oak Music Hall. The locally-owned venue near north-side revealed its indoor venues to the public this week.

"We focused on being the best music venue that we possibly could be and we built it from the ground up that way," said Jagi Katial, one of the owners.

Onlookers say the hall is better than your average dive for an urban crowd.

"I love that it's on the Bayou in a natural setting," said Julie Thomas.

"I like that it's hip and cool and not corporate," added another.

Backstreet Boys, *NSYNC manager Lou Pearlman dies

Lou Pearlman poses with N'Sync Chris Kirkpatrick, JC Chasez, Lance Bass, Joey Fatone and Justin Timberlake seen at N.Y.P.D. pizza in Miami, circa 1996.

(CNN) — Lou Pearlman, the disgraced star-maker behind 1990s boy bands *NSYNC and the Backstreet Boys, has died in prison, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons.

The 62-year-old producer died Friday, according to the bureau’s inmate data base.

Pearlman had been serving a 25-year sentence at the Federal Correctional Institution in Texarkana, Texas, for running Ponzi and bank schemes. He was convicted in 2008 of fraud and swindling investors out of more than $300 million.

In the mid-1990s he formed the iconic boy bands responsible for hits like “I Want It That Way” and “Quit Playing Games (with my Heart)” from the Backstreet Boys and “Bye Bye Bye,” from *NSYNC.

An official cause of death was not announced.

Pearlman had a ‘horrible dark side’

“His passing has touched a lot of people,” said Mark NeJame, who represented Pearlman in civil lawsuits for many years.

“He literally revolutionized the world of pop music and [he was] a creative genius in that regard — but [he] had a horrible dark side that eventually overshadowed his talents.”

Pearlman “had a way of telling people what they wanted to hear,” NeJame added. “He was very seductive.”

With Pearlman at the helm, the Backstreet Boys shot to stardom in 1996 and became one of the top-selling boy bands, selling more than 130 million records, according to the band’s website.

Shortly after the launch of the Backstreet Boys, Pearlman followed up with a second boy band called *NSYNC — which sold more than 55 million records.

*NSYNC’s website was down Sunday in the wake of the news of Pearlman’s death.

Former *NSYNC band members Lance Bass and Chris Kirkpatrick posted their reactions on Twitter.

“He might not have been a stand up businessman,” Bass tweeted, “but I wouldn’t be doing what I love today [without] his influence. RIP Lou”

Kirkpatrick posted that he had “mixed emotions” about the news.

Although the Backstreet Boys broke up long ago, they may be getting back together temporarily to record with the country duo Florida Georgia Line.

The Backstreet Boys are also working on a new album and there are plans for a short residency for the group in Las Vegas.

Turkish wedding suicide bomber was 12-14 years old, Erdogan says

GAZIANTEP, Turkey -- The suicide bomber who killed 51 people at a wedding party in southern Turkey was between 12 and 14 years old, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Sunday, according to state-run news agency Andadolu.

Speaking to reporters in Istanbul, the Turkish President said that early indications suggested the terror group ISIS was behind Saturday night's devastating suicide bomb attack on an outdoor wedding celebration in Gaziantep, near the Syrian border.

"The initial findings of the governor and our police forces indicate the attack has been perpetrated by Daesh," said Erdogan, using another term for the terror group.

People gather at the scene of an explosion in Gaziantep.

"As you know, Daesh is trying to position and organize itself in Gaziantep. Security operations have been conducted and are still being conducted against the terrorist organization."

The toll from the attack jumped to 51 Sunday, according to the agency. Dozens of the dead were laid to rest later Sunday in a city cemetery.

Sixty-nine people were wounded in the blast, with 17 of them in critical condition, Anadolu reported.

The bride and groom were among the injured, although their condition was not critical, Anadolu reported, citing hospital officials.

Officials have found pieces of a detonated suicide vest at the scene, the agency reported. Witnesses to the blast described horrific scenes to Anadolu, with one telling the agency that body parts were strewn across the bomb site.

"We couldn't see anything. Nothing but body parts," Sukru Akdogan, the groom's brother, told Anadolu.

Kurdish celebration targeted

The blast occurred in the Beybahce neighborhood of Gaziantep's Sahinbey district at about around 10:50 p.m. Saturday, according to the Gaziantep governor's office. Gaziantep is about 95 kilometers (60 miles) north of the war-torn Syrian city of Aleppo.

The target was a densely-crowded street in a Kurdish neighborhood where a Kurdish wedding party was taking place, according to Turkey-based journalist Andrew Finkel.

He said there were a number of reasons that the Sunni terror group -- if it is responsible for the attack -- could have been motivated to strike Kurdish targets.

Kurdish militia have played a central role in recent battlefield victories against ISIS in northern Syria, including driving the group from the key city of Manbij earlier this month, cutting a key supply route from the Turkish border to its heartland in Raqqa.

"This may very well be a revenge attack for that," Finkel said.

The blast may also have been an attempt to inflame ethnic tensions in the city, currently home to many refugees from the Syrian conflict, he said.

ISIS operatives have previously struck in the bustling southern Turkish city of about 1.5 million people, with the group claiming responsibility for the shootings of anti-ISIS activists in Gaziantep in December and April.

Turkey, which allows planes from the US-led anti-ISIS coalition to operate from its air base at Incirlik, has been in ISIS' crosshairs, with the group blamed for a series of bomb attacks in the country throughout the year.

In June, 44 people were killed by suspected ISIS suicide bombers at Istanbul's Ataturk Airport.

Erdogan: 'No difference' between Turkey's enemies

No group has yet claimed responsibility for the Gaziantep blast.

But in a statement condemning the attack, Erdogan identified ISIS as the likely perpetrator.

The statement reiterated Erdogan's position, expressed after three bombings targeting security forces in eastern Turkey last week, that there was "no difference" between the three main opponents of his government -- namely the terror group ISIS; the outlawed Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK); and the network of US-based cleric Fethullah Gulen, state-run Anadolu news agency reported Sunday.

Erdogan accuses Gulen of being behind a failed coup attempt last month; Gulen has denied the accusation.

"Those who cannot overcome Turkey and try to provoke people by abusing ethnic and sectarian sensitiveness will not prevail," Anadolu quoted Erdogan as saying.

US Vice President Joe Biden will visit Turkey on Wednesday, with Turkey's demand for Gulen's extradition to be top of the agenda.

Ongoing turmoil

Even before the attempted July 15 coup, Turkey had experienced a year of bloodshed and political turmoil, weathering a string of deadly bomb blasts, blamed variously on ISIS and the PKK.

In the most recent attacks, 11 people were killed and hundreds injured in three bombings targeting security forces in eastern Turkey last week. The Turkish government blamed the PKK.

Clashes between the PKK and Turkish forces have flared up again since a peace process crumbled in 2015, bringing an end to a two-year ceasefire.

LIBERTY COUNTY, Texas --Excited drivers stopped to scoop up some serious cash after Tennessee suspects made it rain during a high speed chase on Hwy 59 early Saturday.

Deputies from Liberty and Polk counties were chasing five suspects on the highway when the suspects began to dump cash out of their vehicle between FM 2090 and FM 1485.

One motorist stopped on the highway to collect some dollar bills, while one trucker watched another driver use his shirt as an apron and filled it with money.

A deputy deployed strips on the highway, puncturing three of the tires on the fleeing SUV, but the suspects continued to ride on the rims before eventually stopping.

The suspects were arrested and identified as, Marquavis Lytle, Deangelo Young, Deandre Brown, Reginald Black and Chaka Grady, all from Nashville.

When questioned, the suspects had quite a bizarre excuse…

According to deputies, all of the men at first denied any knowledge of the money that was found in truck. However, three of them told deputies they were on their way to Padre Island for ‘Spring Break,’ until they were reminded that Spring Break ended in March.

In the end, deputies collected a total of $48,000 off the side of the road.

Samantha Wragg says she’s kept just two photos of her dress since she’s “deleted everything” with her husband’s “disgusting face.” (eBay)

Samantha Wragg hadn’t had time to dust off her wedding dress and take it to the cleaners before she found out her new husband was cheating on her.

So what did the British woman who works in social media do? List her dress on eBay to help foot the bill she says her husband has left her with for the divorce.

Heeding the advice of her brother, she spiced up the listing by revealing some of the dirty details, she reports on her blog. In the days since, bidding has climbed from the initial $2,600 asking price to cover what her parents paid for it new in 2014 to roughly $85,000 with less than two days to go.

Wrapp apologizes for only including two pictures with the listing, but when the cheating came to light, “I pretty much burned/permanently deleted everything with his disgusting face on it!” POPSUGAR notes that the “genius” post mixes details about the size 6 Art Couture ivory lace dress (“Great condition but needs dry cleaning before wearing to get rid of the stench of betrayal”) with her own story (“Hope this dress brings you a lot more happiness than it brought me in the end and if not … well you can always sell it on here!”).

ITV News reports that the 28-year-old has forgiven her ex-husband in spite of his “terrible and really hurtful mistake” and that she is “very happy now so I hope he is too.” In all the messages of support, she says she’s even had a couple marriage proposals.

Students among 23 killed in Somalia bombings

Two car bombs killed at least 23 people Sunday in the Somali town of Galkayo. Al-Shabaab claimed responsibility for the blasts, which killed students and local merchants.

MOGADISHU, Somalia — A pair of suicide car bombings struck a government building in Somalia on Sunday, killing 23 people, authorities said.

Many of the fatalities are students and local traders who were at a nearby school and market in the town of Galkayo, police said.

One bomber rammed his explosives-laden vehicle into the main gate of the building, killing several people, local police Capt. Abdi Hassan said.

Minutes later, as people gathered to help the wounded, a second car bomb exploded.

Al-Shabaab, which claimed responsibility for the bombings, wants to turn Somalia into an Islamist state.

After the explosions, attackers stormed the building and exchanged gunfire with security forces, Hassan said.

The terror group Al-Shabaab claimed responsibility for the attack, which targeted a government compound housing administrative offices, police said.

Northern Galkayo is under the control of Puntland, a semi-autonomous state in northeast Somalia.

Troubling trend

The attack follows a similar pattern of bombings in the country also claimed by Al-Shabaab, which wants to turn Somalia into an Islamist state.

In late July, six people died after double suicide car bombs exploded in Mogadishu.

Just days prior, suicide bombers detonated two vehicles laden with explosives near the capital’s Aden Adde International Airport, killing at least 12.

In June, the group also claimed separate attacks on two hotels popular with Somali politicians, which left more than two dozen people dead.

Rio 2016: Kevin Durant stars as US takes basketball gold

Kevin Durant led the scoring for the United States in Sunday's basketball gold medal match.

(CNN) — The US swept aside Serbia 96-66 Sunday to claim its third straight Olympic men’s basketball crown, and the final gold medal of Rio 2016.

Victory was never in doubt after a dominant second quarter, inspired by Kevin Durant, which saw the Americans pull 23 points clear at halftime.

Durant finished with 30 points, 18 in the second quarter with four three-pointers, as the US made it 53 straight wins in Olympic competition.

Serbia had troubled the team of NBA stars in their group-stage clash, losing 94-91 after missing a three-pointer on the buzzer, but it could not repeat that in the gold medal match.

The US, missing such greats as LeBron James and Steph Curry, reserved its best for last, having come under criticism for previous lackluster displays.

But all that was forgotten as the Mike Krzyzewski-coached team completed the US medal tally in Rio, its 46th gold to comfortably top the table from Great Britain.

Durant, who has recently switched from Oklahoma City Thunder to NBA finalist Golden State Warriors, took the game by the scruff of the neck after an untidy first quarter.

He drained a succession of three-pointers and a spectacular dunk to settle any nerves that might have existed for the hot favorites.

Durant’s teammate, Carmelo Anthony of the New York Knicks, made his own piece of Olympic history with the victory, becoming the first basketballer to win three gold medals.

Anthony also won bronze at the 2004 Games in Athens, where the US suffered its last defeat in Olympic competition, losing to Argentina in the semifinals.

DeMarcus Cousins added 13 points and 15 rebounds in the title match, the US cruising to the basketball gold for the 15th time.

Capturenba

Spain, which restricted the US to an 82-76 victory in the semifinals, beat Australia 89-88 in a controversial finish to the bronze medal match.

A disputed call gave Sergio Rodriguez the chance to score two from the free-throw line with five seconds remaining, as Spain trailed by a point.

HOUSTON – A day after the Texans secured their second win of the preseason, head coach Bill O’Brien told the media J.J. Watt is progressing well in his rehab from back surgery.

“Knowing J.J. the way I do, he’ll be back sooner rather than later,” O’Brien said. “He’s progressing really well. He’s been able to do some things on the Alter-G Treadmill in there which is a really good sign, so as you guys would expect J.J. is really wanting to do a lot more and he’s doing a good job of following the doctor’s orders. But, we feel good about where’s he’s at right now relative to the beginning of the season.”

O’Brien also said offensive lineman Duane Brown and Derek Newton are getting better with their injuries.  He noted that rookie center Nick Martin has an ankle injury, but the medical staff hasn’t decided whether Martin will need surgery or not.

Fortunately, police were on scene to ensure the protest did not escalate into a violent one.

CITRONELLE, Ala. - A 4-month-old boy survived an attack that left five people dead, including a pregnant woman, at a home in southwest Alabama, authorities say.

Police found the infant at the home in Citronelle following the killings Saturday, said Capt. Paul Burch of the Mobile County Sheriff's Office.

The victims were killed using firearms and several other weapons, he said, without providing details on the types used.

A few hours later, Derrick Ryan Dearman, 27, turned himself in at a police station in his home state of Mississippi, authorities said. Investigators are working to determine his relationship to the victims.

Alleged prowler

Citronelle Police received a 911 call about a possible prowler at the home early Saturday morning.

When they arrived at the scene, they found nothing out of the ordinary, authorities said.

The prowler, believed to be Dearman, returned after 1 a.m. and allegedly killed the victims, according to Burch.

"In ... a 20-year career as a prosecutor, I have never seen a scene where there were five people brutally and viciously murdered. That's what we have here," Mobile County District Attorney Ashley Rich told CNN affiliate WALA.

After the killings, the suspect allegedly kidnapped a woman and a 3-month-old baby from the home, and drove to Mississippi, where he surrendered Saturday afternoon at the Greene County Sheriff's Office.

His abductees were with him when he turned himself in, and are safe and believed to be in good health, authorities said.

His extradition to Mobile County will start this week, Burch said.

Several families affected

Burch said there were multiple people in the home at the time of the killings. Neighbors told the affiliate that a brother, a sister and their families lived there.

The victims' names have not been released pending notifications of next-of-kin.

Dearman will be charged with six counts of capital murder to include the unborn child, Burch said.

Citronelle is a small community of 4,000 people. It's about 35 miles away from Mobile.

Arizona man arrested, accused of murdering roommate two days after chilling tweet

GILBERT, Ariz. — An Arizona man suspected of killing his roommate during an argument over the weekend may have foretold the attack on Twitter two days earlier, according to police.

On Friday night, Twitter user @Zac_Penton tweeted, “I need to move out of my place before I viciously murder my roommates.”

On Sunday morning, police arrested 21-year-old Zachary Penton after he told a 911 operator he had shot and killed his roommate, 41-year-old Daniel Garofolo during a dispute, according to KNXV-TV.

Police are looking into the social media account but have not yet confirmed that it belongs to the suspect.

Garofolo died at the Gilbert, Arizona, home they shared.

The two had initially argued after Garofalo asked him to move out of the place, Penton told investigators, and said he shot him out of fear for his own safety, KNXV-TV reported.

Zachary Penton, 21, was arrested by Gilbert police officers Sunday morning. (Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office)

Penton was arrested and placed into custody while authorities weigh charges against him. If there is evidence the alleged murder was pre-meditated, Penton could face a first-degree murder charge.

“We’re aware of some tweet history of his, that he’s ‘going to violently murder his roommate,'” Gilbert public information officer Hugh White told the New York Daily News.

Two days before threatening to “viciously murder” his roommates, Twitter user @Zac_Penton tweeted:

And on June 3, 2016:

Penton, whose bond was set at $750,000, is expected to make a court appearance Monday.

New details released in gruesome, brutal murder of decapitated auto parts shop owner

HOUSTON - Grisly details are coming out about the brutal beating death and decapitation of a Houston auto parts shop owner.

Police have Raymond Jackson, 62,  after the death of Enayatolah "Andy" Khorsand, 58, last week.

Court documents said what Jackson did to his friend Andy would make anyone sick to their stomach.

What Jackson didn't know was that a surveillance camera inside the Mykawa Auto Parts store in south Houston was on.

Police said the video shows an altercation.  In it the video, the victim falls to the floor and bleeds from the back of his head and back.

Then, Jackson is seen bashing Andy in the head with a silver baseball bat.

Jackson takes  a silver machete and whacks at Khorsand's head and neck multiple times before finally kneeling down next to his body and severing Khorsand's head with the machete.

"He's on camera decapitating and beating this man to his death," HPD homicide investigator Alex Vinogradov said.

Investigators said Jackson places the severed head in a plastic bag and lays it next to the corpse.

Then, Jackson is seen running out of the shop.

Witnesses said Khorsand paid Jackson to sweep the shop floors and pick up trash to make some money, since Jackson was apparently a homeless man just trying to get by.

So, what would make Jackson turn so viciously against his charitable friend?

Police hope they can find some answers.

Teacher accused of sexual relationship with foreign exchange student allegedly boasts sordid details

HOUSTON — A first grade teacher accused of having a sexual relationship with a teen foreign exchange student said she did not know that what she was doing was illegal, according to investigators.

Nicole Allyson Jakubiak, 36, has been charged with improper relationship with student.

According to Cypress-Fairbanks ISD police, Jakubiak was a teacher at Robison Elementary and confessed to co-workers that she was having an affair on her husband. “Who” she was having the alleged affair with made the teachers report her activities to authorities.

When questioned about her secret lover, Jakubiak allegedly told the other teachers, “Well, it’s not that hard when they live with you.” Jakubiak and her husband were serving as a “host family” to an 18-year-old Swedish student.

The teachers said Jakubiak then shared with them details of how she and the student were carrying on right under her husband’s nose.

Jakubiak allegedly said they had encounters several times a night, at 2 and 3 o’clock in the morning, when her husband was asleep. She said two times they were almost caught.

According to court documents, Jakubiak and the student were once engaging in sexual activity in the study and, when they heard the garage door, they had to hurry and get dressed. The second time, her husband was out of town and they were allegedly having sex in the bedroom when her in-laws showed up unannounced.

The student hid in the bedroom closet until he found a moment to sneak out of the house; he slid out the backdoor and ran across the neighbor’s yard. The student then walked around the neighborhood until the in-laws left.

Jakubiak said the boy would text her and call her during the day, telling her that he loved and missed her.

On one occassion, Jakubiak took off half a day from work and picked the student up from school. The two then went to “Top Golf” to spend an afternoon together, according to court documents.

The teachers told investigators that Jakubiak once rushed a team meeting, saying her husband would be getting home at 7:30 p.m. and that would only leave her a few hours to spend alone with her young lover. The teachers said she later sent them a text apologizing for being rude during the meeting and said she had ended her affair with the student.

The teachers also said Jakubiak showed them a cellphone picture of the student in his boxers.

Investigators then went to speak to the student, who allegedly confessed to the affair. The student told investigators that he and Jakubiak had a mutual attraction for each other and their romance lasted for a couple of months.
He admitted to the sexual encounters with Jakubiak, which took place at the home. He said they slept together 20 to 30 times.

The student said that Jakubiak and her husband were having marital issues and she constantly slept on the couch.

Jakubiak also confessed to investigators her sexual relationship with the student, but said she did not think it was illegal because he was 18 years old. She said she and her husband were not in a “perfect relationship.”

Investigators explained to Jakubiak that it was illegal to have a sexual relationship with a student who attends the same school district where she employed.

Charges were filed and her bond was set at $20,000.

Transgender girl in center of school bathroom controversy has great 1st day of kindergarten

PEARLAND, Texas — The transgender kindergartner whose mother was fighting for rights to use the girl’s bathroom had her first day of school Monday, and it was all smiles.

Before school started, Kimberly Shappley spoke out at a Pearland Independent School District board meeting on behalf of her 5-year-old daughter, Kai.

Kai was born a boy but has been living as a girl for the past two years and her mother felt that she should be allowed to use the bathroom with the other little girls.

Currently, all students must use the bathroom associated with the gender on their birth certificate or use a private bathroom, but Pearland ISD officials said Kai could, also, use the bathroom in the nurse’s office as an alternative.

Shappley did not want Kai to feel singled out, and said she was fighting not just for her daughter’s right to use the girl’s bathroom, but for her life.

“I’m fighting about her well-being, I’m fighting for her happiness, I’m fighting for her future,” Shappley said.

Pearland ISD released a statement:

“Pearland ISD’s stance on transgender students remains children whose parents declare them transgender must go to the bathroom for the sex indicated on their birth certificate. Such students have also been allowed to use a private bathroom (such as in the nurse’s station) if they are so inclined. All Pearland ISD kindergarten classrooms have a private, gender-neutral bathroom within the classroom for student use.”

That position is being upheld.

Kai’s mother shared photos of her daughter’s first day of school with CW39/ NewsFix and said that her daughter had an awesome day.

Texas teacher’s new homework policy goes viral

FORT WORTH, Texas — A Texas teacher’s note to parents is going viral, thanks to a student-friendly approach to homework that seems to be going over well with parents, too.

Facebook user Samantha Gallagher shared a photo of the note, which her daughter’s teacher gave students, establishing the class homework policy.

“After much research this summer, I am trying something new,” the note begins. “Homework will only consist of work that your student did not finish during the school day. There will be no formally assigned homework this year.”

Gallagher’s profile says she lives in Fort Worth, Texas. “Brooke is loving her new teacher already,” she wrote in the caption.

But that wasn’t all. The note continued:

“Research has been unable to prove that homework improves students performances. Rather, I ask that you spend your evenings doing things that are proven to correlate with student success. Eat dinner as a family, read together, play outside, and get your child to bed early.”

The note is signed by Mrs. Brandy Young.

Other parents seemed just as thrilled at the idea as Gallagher’s daughter. One wrote, “Hopefully this will change some things…. I love (our) teacher, but we do an hour of homework each night plus studying for tests and reading.”

Another parent commented, “Finally more teachers are catching on to this! Our school has been like this for years, it’s sooo much better!”

Gallagher’s post was shared on Aug. 16 and it already has nearly 60,000 shares. It was also picked up by social media site reddit, where it garnered thousands more.

The mother wrote on Facebook that people from all over the world have contacted her to tell her they saw the image. She said she received messages from countries such as Australia, Japan, Ireland and Africa.

Many on Facebook and reddit approved of the new policy, and some said their schools had similar rules.

FRIENDSWOOD, Texas — A realtor is accused of having a sexual rendezvous inside a home she closed on just a day before. Kayla Marisa Seloff, 22, and Joshua Gene Leal, 27, are charged with criminal trespassing.

According to Friendswood police, a neighbor was leaving for work around 4:53 a.m. Saturday when he noticed suspicious activity at a vacant home in the 200 block of E. Castle Harbour.

The neighbor called police after noticing a man and woman get out of a vehicle, walk up to the vacant home, then go out of sight. The neighbor then saw flash lights inside the home.

When police arrived, they peered inside the home and saw a man and woman lying on the floor. The couple, at first, hid when officers entered the home but came out and tried to justify why they were on the property.

Seloff claimed she and Leal were married and had just purchased the home the day before, and to verify her story, police escorted them outside to retrieve their identification.

Police said when Seloff opened her car door, they smelled marijuana and a glass pipe was seen on the dashboard. When the officers confiscated the pipe, they found a pouch with additional drug paraphernalia and a small baggie of marijuana. Seloff admitted they belonged to her, police said.

Seloff then came clean, admitting that she was not the owner of the home, but was its real estate agent. She said she had just sold the home to the new homeowner one day prior.

The new homeowner said Seloff did not have permission to be inside the home and agreed to file criminal charges.

Bond amounts for both Seloff and Leal were set at $1,000 each.
