Ringling Brothers Circus elephant shot in drive-by

TUPELO, MS – Another sad case of animal abuse, but this story is anything but ordinary because when you’re dealing with the circus it’s bound to be extraordinary.

The target (most likely unintended) was an elephant.

General Manager for Ringling Brother’s “Gold Edition” Rob Lang said, “Never in the 143 years of Ringling Brothers Circus has anything like this ever happened.”

The circus came to the town of Tupelo, Mississippi, where they were setting up for a four-day run of shows.

Carol, a 39-year-old Asian elephant, was inside a tent when some dumbo shot her between the ear and shoulder.

She is expected to be okay, which is big news for the Big Top.

The bad news is cops say they probably won’t find who did it.

But you know what they say: The show must go on.
