AUSTIN, TX – Any way you slice it, the legislative process can seem crummy. That is, until these cutie pies showed up on the scene.
Students from Ford Elementary in Georgetown headed to Austin over Spring Break, in an effort to make pecan pie the official pie of the Lone Star State. Sounds nuts, huh? Not so, when you consider the pecan and the pecan tree are Texas State symbols.
These kiddos made things happen in the capital the good ol’ fashioned way: bribery! They brought pecan pie to the politicians to help sweeten the deal.
It looks like these kids had the recipe for success. It’ll go before the Senate for a full vote.
