HOUSTON, TX – The Houston Police Department were out in full force today. The mission, put the pedal to the metal and ride for a cure, raising money for the leukemia and lymphoma society.
Sporting bow ties, dog tags and bracelets with the names of those who suffer, 34 officers began the 2900 mile relay ride. The ride began at Discovery Green and will end in Tacoma, Washington in seven days.
Houston’s finest are hoping to add to the $5.4 million raised since starting the ride 32-years-ago.
So, if you happen to see the boys and girls in blue pedaling by, give ‘em a wave, a smile and show your support. After all, these officers ride for all of us.
