NEW YORK, NY – Women are taking a chunk out of the big apple this spring. Women in the World 2013 will be held the first week of April in New York City. This summit supports women around the world and addresses topics like getting into politics and leadership roles to combating violence against women.
The summit features a long list of ladies, including Meryl Streep, Oprah Winfrey, Diane von Furstenberg (best known for designing the wrap dress, duh!), and human rights activist Dr. Hawa Abdi.
The event will benefit the Women in the World Foundation, a group that’s dedicated to the advancement of women and girls. This will be the fourth year Women in the World has put on a program like this.
It’s all about shattering that glass ceiling.
