KUALA LUMPUR — The plane went down, and everyone on board is dead.
Word like that seems abrupt, when the Boeing 777 that’s been missing for 17 days still hasn’t been found, but Malaysian officials say they have compiled enough data to know that the flight ended in the Indian Ocean, west of Perth, Australia.
The conclusion is based on satellite data and other information analyzed by U.K Air Accident Investigators. On Monday families of the 239 people on board received text messages from the airline, saying “none of those aboard have survived.”
Many questions still remain regarding just what happened to the missing jet.
