BOSTON, MA - What’s a Boston St. Patrick’s day parade without some ice cold Boston beer?

Well, we’re about to find out.

The Boston-based Sam Adams beer is pulling out of the city’s annual St. Patty’s day parade.

Parade organizers are refusing to allow a group of gay veterans to march openly, and that decision was too much for the Boston Beer Company to swallow.

All this came after a popular bar said it would give Sam Adams the boot for supporting the parade.

“This is just about equal rights,” Club Cafe’s owner, Frank Ribaudo said. “Everyone is equal in this country.”

Sam Adams is only the latest of big time Bostonian to say “see ya later” to the 113-year-old parade. The company said in a statement:

“We stand with Mayor Walsh, Congressman Lynch, and other community leaders in our decision not to participate in this year’s parade.”

Residents in America’s most Irish city are giving Sam Adams the thumbs up.

Cheers to Sam Adams for taking a stand and continuing the march towards equality.
