PRETORIA, SOUTH AFRICA – The sixth day of the Oscar Pistorius murder trial was downright sickening. At least to the paralympian sitting in the hot seat.
The Blade Runner broke down and started throwing up as a pathologist described the injuries Oscar’s girlfriend, model Reeva Steenkamp, sustained after he shot and killed her on Valentine’s Day of last year. Pistorius says it was a case of mistaken identity, and shooting Steenkamp was an accident.
At one point during the testimony, Pistorius even tried covering his ears to avoid the graphic details. This case is a tough one. Is Oscar’s behavior a sign of true remorse? Or is it just good acting?
It’s up to the judge to decide if “The Oscar goes to Pistorius” and Pistorius goes to prison, or if this will be just another hurdle in the Olympians track record.
The trial’s expected to last at least two more weeks, so we’ll just have to wait and see if Pistorius crosses the finish line in the victorious fashion he’s used to.
