TRENTON, NJ – Oh Chris Christie! The New Jersey governor is already getting a lot of flack for the whole traffic scandal. You know, how he and his aides were exposed for causing major traffic jams on the George Washington Bridge as political payback to its mayor. Well, it looks like things are going from bad to worse.

A federal investigation is being launched into why money meant for Hurricane Sandy relief was used on a marketing campaign featuring Christie and his family.

“This was money that could have directly been used for Sandy recovery. And, as you know, many of my constituents still haven’t gotten the money that is owed to them to rebuild their homes or to help,” said Rep. Frank Pallone, New Jersey’s 6th congressional district.

Governor Christie was actually praised and shot into political stardom for his response to the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. And while U.S. Congressman Frank Pallone agrees that promoting tourism after super storm Sandy was a good idea, the feds want to know how much taxpayer money was spent to make the ads.

The governor’s office says that federal agency reviews are “routine,” and they’re confident that it will show that the ads were a key part in helping New Jersey get back on its feet after being struck by the worst storm in state history.

And so the Christie crisis continues.
