HOUSTON, TX – Artists in downtown Houston are painting the town red … and blue and green. The street painting festival “Via Colori” turns our city streets into works of art.
So far the weather has been less than cooperative, but that hardly slowed anyone down. This free event goes on rain or shine and raises money for some very special children at the Center for Hearing and Speech.
Organizations sponsor squares of space where over 200 artists turn plots of pavement into murals of art.
“Via Colori” goes on all weekend with live music, family-friendly activities, and even a chance for the kids to get their hands dirty with some art supplies.
Expecting to draw over 30,000 people, the program plans to raise over $400,000 that directly supports programs for children with hearing loss.
