CLEVELAND, OH – Ariel Castro’s house is now just dust and rubble. Crews tore down the mausoleum in Cleveland this morning. Michelle Knight, one of the three women kidnapped and held captive in the home for roughly a decade, was there. She handed out yellow balloons to the folks who gathered at the site.
“It represents all the millions of children that were never found and the ones that passed away that were never heard,” she said.
An aunt of another former captive, Gina DeJesus, took the first hit on the house. Castro is set to serve a life sentence plus a thousand years behind bars.
Now the horror that he called home is gone. It will never be forgotten.
