SANA’A, YEMEN – The State Department is telling all Americans in Yemen to get out now.

Do not pass go. Do not collect 200 dollars.

The State Department has closed embassies and consulates in North Africa and the Middle East, and issued a world-wide travel warning because the National Security Agency and the Central Intelligence Agency picked up some chatter about an terrorist attack.

The latest came from al Qaeda’s leader telling his number two guy in Yemen to ‘do something.’

They don’t know what that something is, but it’s probably not good.

A pair of U.S. drone strikes in Yemen that killed four al-Qaeda militants in the past ten days didn’t make things better there.

And speaking of terrorists, Yemen is home to this bad hombre, 31-year-old Ibraham al-Asiri, the master bomb-maker for al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula.

He outfitted the underwear bomber in that failed attempt to blow up an airliner in 2009.

He’s ruthless. He planted a bomb on his brother, maybe in his underwear, or in his rear.

The brother was supposed to kill himself and a Saudi minister. He didn’t get the minister.

Last year, al-Asiri made another underwear bomb that airport security equipment could not detect.

The plot failed, but it rattled the Transportation Safety Administration, which called the bomb a ‘Next-Gen’ device.

The current focus may be on Yemen, but with this guy around, no one is safe.
