Pollution in China has cut average life expectancy by more than five years

So this stinks.  Apparently living in an area with thick smog is just as bad for you as it looks.  A team of international researchers says pollution in northern China is so bad, it’s cutting life expectancy by five and a half years, on average.

More than a billion people live in north china.  The government has promised to make some changes, but the country burns nearly as much coal each year as the rest of the world combined.

Talk about fueling a crisis.
