NEW YORK – You know how cooks are always eager to have you taste what they’re working on? Sometimes, you gotta just say no. A New York City waitress is suing her former boss because she claims the restaurateur tricked her into eating magic mushrooms.

Sofie Rasmussen filed court papers alleging that Paul Abrahamian, a co-owner at a New York City fried chicken restaurant called Sticky’s Finger Joint fed her the hallucinogenic shrooms in 2012, by telling her they were a new menu item. But this new recipe was more like a recipe for disaster!

According to Rasmussen, who was 19 at the time, Abrahamian led her to the kitchen and asked he to take part in a blind taste test in front of other restaurant staff. She opened up and said ahhh… swallowing the prank in more ways than one.

The New York Post quotes she said, “It didn’t taste great. I was so confused. I was like, what the f*%k is this?” Then it hit her, “I realized what it was. I felt weird, I was tripping and I had one or two hours left on my shift.”

The restaurant claims Rasmussen is tripping alright… by vehemently denying the shroom incident ever happened! Co-owner Jonathan Sherman says, “This is a false claim. We are confident we will be vindicated once it goes through the legal system.”

Magic mushrooms on the menu or not, maybe the moral to all this is: one should think twice before shutting their eyes and opening their mouth at a place called Sticky’s Finger.
