On Star Trek, the crew of the Starship Enterprise was always going where no man has gone before.

So it’s only fitting that the creator of the show gets to spend eternity in the depths of space.

Only problem, creator Gene Roddenberry died in 199 and his remains were cremated.

Enter Celestis.

The Houston-based business is about to send part of Roddenberry’s ashes, along with the remains of his wife and James Doohan, who played “Scotty” on the TV show, on a permanent celestial voyage.

The company, which has launched remains into space since 1997, is planning on shooting the star’s ashes into deep space next year.

Celestis Memorial Spaceflights isn’t just for Star Trek creators and actors; anybody can take a post-mortem trip to space.

It’s the perfect end for anyone who lived long and prospered.
