SWEDESBORO, NJ – NASCAR is a fast-paced, thrilling sport and it’s extremely dangerous too. A sad reminder during a NASCAR race in New Jersey that turned deadly.
NASCAR driver Jason Leffler died Wednesday evening after he crashed on the dirt track at Bridgeport Speedway.
Leffler’s car reportedly flipped on the track’s front stretch, leaving extensive damage to the roof of his car.
Stuck inside, safety crews helped get him out. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The crash is still under investigation and a talented racer who is gone too soon.
